April Feature Releases and Improvements 🚀
The last few months, the team has been heads down hearing your feedback and building a better product. April is the biggest release we have ever shipped, and every section below traces back to a conversation with one of you.
Mallard Bay was built for outfitters by outfitters, and we built it to save you time, protect your cash flow, and keep your business running smoothly whether you are in the field or in the office. Think of us as an extension of your team that handles everything except cleaning the boat and brushing the blind, so you can stay focused on the work only you can do.
We could not have built this without you. If you have any feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We would love to hear from you.
Here's what's new and what it means for you:
👥 The Clients Tab Got some Major Upgrades
One screen with everything you know about a client. Booking history, notes, past messages, contact info, and the ability to set custom properties. No more bouncing between tabs to figure out who you are talking to.
- Create custom properties to organize contacts the way you actually run your operation. By pursuit, by lodge, by referral source, by whatever you sort by.
- See every booking they have ever taken with you, plus every email they've been sent in our system, on one timeline.
- Add private notes to each client and tag other team members.
- Edit contact info and upload a client photo so faces match names when they pull up to the dock.

🌐 Building Client Lists Got a Whole Lot Easier
Whether you are putting together a season opener blast or grouping repeat clients for a referral push, building the list should not take an afternoon. Now it doesn't.
- Build lists from any combination of properties. Filter by species, lodge, referral source, trips booked, or anything else you have tagged.
- Mass select clients and drop them into a list in a few clicks. No spreadsheet export, no copy-paste.
- Create dynamic lists that will grow as more clients meet the criteria you set.
📋 Use Templates or the Free-Form Email Editor to Send Messages
Use a saved template, or just write what you want to say. Either way, it goes out from your name and lands in their inbox the way you intended.
- Send marketing emails to a single client or a whole list, with a free-form rich text editor.
- Customize any saved template from the Message Templates section, so next year's season opener writes itself.
- Live preview while you compose, so what you see is what your clients get.
🎨 The Best Forms Management System for Outfitters Just Got Better
Forms and leads now feel like one product. Every submission flows straight into the lead it belongs to, so you stop hunting for context across screens.
- Forms got a major refresh. Submission count, duplicate forms, checkbox input, and a redesigned details and submissions view.
- Leads and forms are now wired together. Form name shows in the leads table, the actual submission lives on the lead detail page, and forms have richer info in the form table itself.
🔍 Availability and Mobile Calendar Improvements
The new Availability Calendar is faster, cleaner, and finally works the way it should on a phone. Block dates, change open slots, and keep everything in sync from the boat ramp.
- A redesigned UI that makes it faster to block out days and manage open slots.
- Built for the phone first, so you can update availability between casts without firing up a laptop.
- Know exactly how many slots are available, anytime, anywhere.
👥 Create and Manage Group Bookings
Duck blind weekends, bachelor parties, tournament fishing trips, corporate hunts. Groups now work the way you actually run them. One group, multiple bookings, one place to see it all.
- Plan, edit, and combine multi-booking trips directly from the app or dashboard.
- Create a group from the booking page or calendar without rebuilding from scratch.
- Easily adjust group bookings on the fly.
🔍…and a whole lot more.
There were way too many features to fit into one update. The link below has the full April changelog, including:
- A new iOS home-screen widget that shows your weekly digest, unread counts, and upcoming bookings
- AI-generated listing description suggestions on mobile
- Photo uploads that automatically retry and compress on flaky cell service
- Downloadable review images
- "Sportsmen" renamed to "Clients" everywhere in the app and dashboard
- Plus dozens of paper cuts the team chipped through
Thanks for being part of the journey. Your feedback shapes every release and helps us build a stronger system for the people who live and work in the field.
Our platform is purpose-built for outfitters by a team that has spent years in the same blinds, boats, and back offices as you. Every update is informed by the real work you do and the challenges you face. We mean it when we say your voice matters. Your input guides our roadmap and helps us deliver a system that protects your time, strengthens your business, and preserves the tradition we all care about.
Stay tuned. Even bigger things are coming next month.
