About Gers Safaris
Gers Safaris is based at Papkuil Reserve in South Africa’s Northern Cape, approximately 120 km from Kimberley in the heart of historic diamond country. The reserve offers wide-open spaces, clear skies, dramatic sunsets, brilliant starry nights, and the quiet beauty of a malaria-free safari destination.
Owned by Julius and Madelene Gers, Papkuil Reserve has been in the Gers family for four generations and spans approximately 37,000 privately owned acres. The operation combines authentic African hospitality, 4-star accommodation, professional hunters, trackers, skinners, lodge staff, and outstanding cuisine to create a warm, highly personalized safari experience.
Guests can enjoy hunting, game and bird viewing, bush walks, bush picnics, mountain biking, relaxing by the pool, and optional assistance with add-on travel to destinations such as Kimberley, Cape Town, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, Sabi Sabi, and Kruger National Park.

Papkuil Safari 4-Star Lodge
Sleeps 14A 4-star safari lodge with 14 elegant en-suite units situated near the farmhouse at Papkuil Reserve. Units are decorated with South African elegance and offer views of wide open plains. Some units include an open-hearth fireplace and underfloor heating. Guests gather for sundowners on the veranda overlooking the water hole and enjoy campfire evenings with African cuisine.
