Frequently Asked Questions
What are the lodging arrangements?
Flatliner Outfitters partners with a network of trusted lodging providers to ensure guests enjoy comfortable accommodations and professionally prepared meals throughout their stay. Lodging and meals are included with most hunt packages, and we strive to deliver a welcoming, home-style atmosphere for every guest.
How far is the nearest airport?
The majority of our hunters choose to fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), which is approximately a 2.5-hour drive from our location in Yampa. An increasingly popular alternative is the Yampa Valley Regional Airport in Steamboat/Hayden (HDN), located just 45 minutes away and offering a convenient regional option.
Are harvests guaranteed?
We are proud to offer fair chase hunting in some of Colorado’s most productive wildlife units. While our guides work tirelessly to provide every hunter with the best opportunity at success, we do not guarantee kills. Hunting is a dynamic and challenging pursuit, and we believe in maintaining ethical, legal, and respectful practices at all times.
Can I bring my own firearm?
Absolutely. We encourage hunters to bring their own firearms or archery equipment—ideally the gear they are most comfortable and accurate with. If you do not have access to a suitable firearm, we can provide a quality alternative upon request.
Is Flatliner Outfitters licensed and insured?
Yes. Flatliner Outfitters is fully licensed and bonded in the state of Colorado. We comply with all applicable state and federal regulations, and carry appropriate liability insurance to ensure the safety and security of our guests and staff.
Do I need to apply for a draw license?
Some of our hunts—such as mule deer and early elk seasons—require a draw through Colorado Parks & Wildlife. We provide full assistance during the application process to ensure you're properly entered. However, several of our offerings, including later-season elk hunts and all bear hunts, are available with over-the-counter (OTC) tags and do not require the draw.
