You’ll pursue Merriam’s turkeys across a diverse landscape that includes mountain terrain, river bottoms, sage flats, and productive agricultural fields. This variety creates consistent opportunities and allows hunts to be tailored based on bird movement and conditions.

All hunts take place on private land with minimal hunting pressure, giving you access to undisturbed birds and a more controlled, high-quality experience. Wyoming is a one-bird state, making every opportunity count—and your guide will work closely with you to make it happen.

All packages include guiding, lodging, and full hunt coordination, creating a seamless and focused hunting experience from start to finish.

What to Bring

Your primary focus should be bringing a weapon you’re confident with. Due to the open terrain, shots can vary in distance, so proper setup is key.

Most hunters prefer:

• 12 or 20 gauge shotguns with tight chokes
• TSS loads for extended effective range

Archery hunters are welcome and can hunt from ground blinds when conditions allow. If you prefer not to travel with a firearm, shotguns are available for use on-site. Rifles are also a legal method of take in Wyoming, though they are less commonly used.

• Denver International Airport – approximately 3 hours away
• Scottsbluff Regional Airport – approximately 40 minutes away

Rental vehicles are available at both locations, and guests are welcome to drive directly to the lodge.

While the lodge offers a secluded, scenic setting along the North Platte River, the town of Torrington, Wyoming is just 10 minutes away, providing access to restaurants, bars, and any additional supplies you may need.

What to Expect Each Day

Your hunt begins the evening before with check-in at the lodge and a quick overview of the plan for the following morning.

Each day starts early, well before daylight, as your guide positions you in areas where birds are known to roost and travel. Hunting strategies will vary depending on terrain and conditions, but the focus is always on getting set up as close as possible for a high-quality shot opportunity.

If a bird isn’t taken during the morning hunt, you’ll break for lunch before heading back out for an afternoon hunt to stay on active birds.
