About
If you are a sportsmen looking to check a Merriam off the list for your slam or just want to experience turkey hunting in Wyoming then 157 Outfitters has you covered. We hunt Merriam turkeys throughout Southeastern Wyoming in environments ranging from mountains, river bottoms, sage flats, ag fields and everything in between. All our hunts take place on private land with minimum pressure on birds. All hunts include guiding, hunting, and lodging. Wyoming is a one bird state.
What should I bring?
Your weapon of choice for turkey hunting is the most important piece of equipment. While we do our best to get them close Wyoming often has open areas where turkeys can be seen from a distance. Most hunters bring tight choked 12 or 20 gauge shotguns shooting TSS. We can also run archery hunters out of ground blinds. If you would not like to bring a gun we have turkey shotguns available to borrow. While rarely done, rifles are also a legal method of take in Wyoming.
How should I get there?
Denver International airport is a 3 hour drive from the lodges with ample ability to get rental vehicles. For less driving Scottsbluff airport is located 40 minutes away and also has rental cars. We always welcome clients to drive from the place of residence in their own cars as well.
What will an average day look like?
The day before the hunt you will meet with the Outfitter, get checked into the lodge and prepare for the next day hunting. Our hunts begin well before light where your guide will pick you up and take you to the area to be hunted. The style of hunting will vary based of location but we will find birds and set up as close to possible. If a bird is not harvested in the morning we will break for lunch and go after them in the afternoon.
How far are the lodges from civilization?
While the lodges themselves are secluded on the banks of the North Platte River, the town of Torrington, Wyoming is only a 10 minute drive and includes numerous restaurants, bars, and grocery stores.
Rules
I don't want to leave the lodges once I get settled, is there anyway I can have groceries already provided?
Yes! If you give us a list of what you would like for our stay we are more than happy to have the fridges fully stocked upon your arrival so you do not even have to make a trip into town.

We are a licensed Wyoming Outfitter offering hunts for Waterfowl, Antelope, Whitetail, Mule Deer, Elk and Turkeys.
For waterfowl we believe in quality over quantity. We run limited groups of hunters on quality fields to make sure that pressure is kept to a minimum. We are also the only outfit that provides everything you need for a successful hunt. No need to worry about booking hotels, checking guns or finding ammo before your trip. At the end of the day all the birds are taken whole, processed, vacuum packed and returned to you so that you can enjoy the hunt and not worry about the headache of trying to stay legal cleaning federal migratory birds. We also run the biggest spreads in the area, oftentimes running over 1,000 decoys. 157 Outfitters operates in the North Platte River valley in Southeast Wyoming. During the migration the river valley holds hundreds of thousands of ducks and geese. The warm water sloughs of the North Platte hold birds for the entirety of the season as they roost on the river and feed in corn and hay fields during the day. We run hunts from the first of December until the close of the season. Hunts will primarily be tailored for geese however ducks will be targeted if the correct conditions are present. Hunts will usually take place in heated underground pits placed in fields that accommodate up to 5 hunters at a time. We also offer opportunities to hunt the North Platte River itself during the first half of December.
