Cherokee T.P. Outfitters Semi-Guided (DIY) Hunts

Semi-guided hunts are all inclusive and include 6 nights of lodging and meals with 5 days of hunting, $2,800 per hunter. Breakfast and dinner is a hot meal, and all lunch materials, snacks and bottle waters are provided to bring out into the field.

No guide or transportation is provided but you will have an opportunity to get advice on areas to hunt from one of our guides. Clients may choose to bring ATV/UTV for use in semi-guided. Most of our areas are accessible by SUV or 4-wheel drive vehicles to the trailheads, but an ATV/UTV can be useful on limited trails. If choosing to use ATV/UTV, a permit is required ($25.25) which can be acquired online.

Terrain can be rough, so we suggest googling the area within 5–10-mile radius and along forest service road 250 of Jasper, CO in units 80-81 before booking.

Quad maps can be purchased online or at the forest service office.

What to bring:

• Personal hygene items
• Medications (if needed)
• Sleeping bag (required)
• Pillow & twin sheet (if desired)
• Towels & washcloths (required)

Clients are responsible for knowing all rules and regulations as well as those in regards to transporting game.

Clients are also responsible for having all required licenses and tags for the species being hunted.

The application period beings in March, with the deadline being first Tuesday in April. Draw result notifications will go out by email first week of June.

Deer and Elk: Tags are as follows

Archery: Sept 2nd - 30th | Draw Tag 

Muzzleloader: | Draw Tag (minimum 4 points to draw)

1st Rifle Season: | Draw Tag (Bull Only)

2nd Rifle Season: | Over the Counter Tag

3rd Rifle Season: | Over the Counter Tag

4th Rifle Season: | Draw Tag

Bear season runs congruent with deer and elk seasons however, tags can be purchased as an “add on” through the draw.

Other rules:

• Alcohol is not provided by the outfitter. Alcohol is permitted at the end of day after weapons are stored. If caught consuming alcohol during hunting the client forfeits that day of hunting and will be returned back to camp.
• No drug policy. No drug use or drugs allowed on premises or during hunt. If caught you will forfeit your hunt entirely.
• Nearest town (monte vista) is 35 miles so please have everything you need before heading up the mountain.
• Please have your gun/bow sited in prior to arrival at basecamp
• Outfitter/client is required by law to report a violation or unlawful kill. Please know your species.
