Colorado Elk & Mule Deer

Hunt Colorado’s elk capital with Compass West Outfitters in the La Garita Wilderness and San Juan National Forest. The outfitter holds special permits in Unit 68/681 and Unit 80/81 near Saguache, along with BLM access in the area, and also operates in Units 73 and 74 near Durango and Mancos.

These fully guided drive-in and wilderness spike-camp hunts target elk and mule deer in some of the West’s best country. Unit 68 offers trophy mule deer potential, from high-country bow hunts to late rifle rut hunts, while Units 80/81 provide excellent 3rd and 4th rifle season mule deer opportunities.

Guided hunts include in-field transportation, meals, guided hunt days, tent lodging and field care to the trailhead, making this a complete Colorado mountain hunting experience.

A Colorado hunter-safety card is required. A 50% deposit books hunt dates; on draw hunts, a $500 deposit is fully refunded if the hunter does not draw. Call to confirm current dates and pricing.
