About this trip
Coastal Columbian Blacktail Hunt in Gold Beach, Oregon
Join Jeff Knox Hunting for a limited-pressure Columbian Blacktail deer hunt on more than 3,000 acres of historic coastal ranch country near Gold Beach, Oregon. Located just one mile from the Pacific Ocean, these private ranches offer a unique opportunity to hunt trophy Columbian Blacktail in one of the most scenic and productive coastal environments in the West.
This is a highly exclusive hunt, with only two tags allocated on these ranches for the entire season. The low hunting pressure helps preserve the quality of the experience and gives hunters a true opportunity to pursue mature blacktail bucks in quiet, carefully managed country.
Hunts are scheduled during the last two weeks of October to line up with peak rut activity. During this window, bucks are more active, often staying close to does and moving throughout the day. Hunters can expect a mix of glassing, hiking, driving to vantage points, and spot-and-stalk hunting as conditions and deer movement change.
The ranches feature lush openings and managed clearings that are maintained and refreshed each fall to improve visibility, forage, and overall hunt quality. This combination of coastal habitat, low pressure, and rut timing creates an excellent opportunity for hunters looking to pursue a true Columbian Blacktail buck.
While lodging is not included, the ranches are located less than two miles from the town of Gold Beach, Oregon, and Jeff Knox Hunting will help guests find nearby accommodations. Hunters are also welcome at the ranch house for dinners, relaxing after the hunt, and sharing stories from the day.
