Avula Rhino Darting Experience

Location: Avula Green Kalahari, South Africa

Hosted by: Avula Safaris Professional Hunting Team

Season: Year-Round

An Unforgettable Conservation Adventure

For those seeking a unique and purposeful African experience, the Avula Rhino Darting Safari offers the rare opportunity to contribute directly to the conservation and protection of one of Africa’s most iconic species — the mighty Rhino.

This is not a traditional hunt, but a hands-on conservation adventure that allows guests to take part in the vital process of rhino management and preservation. Guided by Avula’s expert Professional Hunters and qualified wildlife veterinarians, participants will safely dart and immobilize a live Rhino for the purpose of microchipping, health evaluation, and anti-poaching protection.

Every moment is a blend of adrenaline, education, and purpose — an unforgettable way to experience Africa’s wildlife while making a lasting impact.

Trophy Included

  • 1 × Darted Rhino

Package Includes:

  • 5 Nights’ Luxury Accommodation
  • Professional Hunter & Wildlife Veterinarian Services
  • All Meals and Refreshments
  • Trophy Preparation & Field Assistance

The Darting Experience

Your adventure begins in the Avula Green Kalahari, a 31,000-acre private conservation property home to over 360 Rhinos and 200 Cape Buffalos. Guests will accompany Avula’s conservation team on a guided pursuit, tracking and identifying a specific rhino under veterinary supervision.

Once located, the animal is darted using a tranquilizer rifle, allowing for safe, non-lethal immobilization. The team then performs health checks, tagging, and DNA sampling — critical measures that support ongoing anti-poaching initiatives and population management.

For guests, the experience delivers a rush unlike any other — the heart-pounding intensity of the chase balanced with the satisfaction of knowing your efforts help protect one of Africa’s most endangered species.
