Hunting the Mississippi Flyway

When the north winds blow and the migration is on, there’s no better place to be than Palisade Flats. Nestled along the Mississippi and Willow Rivers, our 4,000+ acres of managed habitat serve as a sanctuary for ducks and geese throughout the fall. The property is meticulously designed with flooded rice paddies, corn impoundments, and moist-soil units covered with smartweed, millet, and wild rice—keeping birds fed and close from opener through freeze-up.

Our waterfowl program focuses on quality over quantity. Hunts are limited to small private parties, and property is rested between hunts to ensure consistent action and fresh birds. Each morning, you’ll head out with experienced guides who have already scouted the best fields and water for the day. Whether you’re hunting mallards in a rice impoundment or diver ducks from a brushed boat on the river, you can expect premium setups, expert calling, and a high-success hunt.

The Lodge Experience

After the hunt, return to the Grandview Lodge for hot brunch and an afternoon of relaxation. Hunters can grab a drink at Mallard Lodge, play pool, watch the game, or simply sit on the deck overlooking the property while birds trade back and forth across the sky. Evenings are a highlight, with Chef Christian preparing multi-course meals that often include wild game, fresh bread, and desserts made from scratch. This is more than a hunt—it’s a fully immersive experience built around great hunting, great food, and great company.

• 2-Day All-Inclusive Hunt – $2,400 per hunter
• 3-Day All-Inclusive Hunt – $3,300 per hunter
• Drive-In Daily Hunt – $600 per guest/day
• Take The Lodge (Private Buyout) – $16,000 (2-day) / $23,000 (3-day)
• Non-Hunting Guest Add-On – $500 per person

GUEST INFORMATION:

Check-In

Check-in is anytime after 5:00 PM the evening prior to your first day of hunting. We will have drinks, appetizers, and dinner awaiting you. Departure time is after lunch on your final day of hunting. Lodging, excellent meals, all snacks, beer, and wine are provided. If you wish to bring hard liquor you are more than welcome to. Please drink responsibly, we have a zero-tolerance policy and will remove anyone deemed unsafe from the hunt.

Transportation

If you are flying in from out of state, Minneapolis−Saint Paul International Airport is the closest major commercial airport. You can fly in there, rent a car and drive approximately two hours north to the Lodge.

What to Bring

You will need to bring your normal hunting clothes, chest waders, shotgun, and shotgun shells. We do have shotguns available for rent and shells available for purchase at the Lodge if you don’t wish to travel with yours.

Hunting Requirements

You will need to get your licenses before arriving at the Hunt Club as we do not have them for sale there. You can get your license online on the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources website.

You will need the following to be able to hunt:

· Federal Duck Stamp

· HIP certification is required for waterfowl hunting. You get your HIP certification when you purchase your license. It is free.

· A Minnesota state waterfowl stamp.

· A special goose permit is required for the September goose season.
