Hunt Free-Range Aoudad in the Rugged Mountains of West Texas

PM Guiding Service offers fully guided free-range Aoudad hunts in the rugged mountains, canyons, and desert landscapes of West Texas. Often referred to as the "poor man's sheep hunt," Aoudad provide one of the most physically demanding and rewarding hunting experiences available in North America.

These hunts are conducted on large West Texas properties where Aoudad roam freely across vast expanses of rocky terrain. Success requires patience, determination, and plenty of glassing as guides work to locate mature rams and develop a stalk through some of the most challenging country in the state.

For hunters looking for an authentic mountain-style hunting experience without leaving Texas, few adventures compare to pursuing Aoudad in their natural environment.

The Hunting Experience

Spot-and-Stalk Hunting

Every hunt is centered around traditional spot-and-stalk methods. Days begin behind quality optics, glassing distant ridges, canyon walls, and rocky outcroppings in search of mature rams. Once a target is located, guides carefully plan an approach that takes advantage of terrain, wind, and sheep behavior to create a shot opportunity.

Challenging Terrain

Aoudad thrive in steep, unforgiving country. Hunters should expect hiking, elevation changes, and long days in the field as they pursue these incredibly resilient animals. The challenge is part of what makes Aoudad hunting so rewarding.

Trophy Ram Opportunities

West Texas is known for producing exceptional Aoudad, and PM Guiding Service focuses on providing hunters with opportunities at mature rams. Whether you're searching for your first sheep or adding another trophy to your collection, our guides work hard to maximize every opportunity.
