The Hunt

Each morning starts from one of 402 Waterfowl's established hunting locations situated in high-traffic waterfowl areas.

Hunters can expect to hunt from comfortable heated blinds over quality decoy spreads while guides work birds into range. Depending on current conditions, the crew may focus on ducks, geese, or a combination of both.

Rather than depending on a single field or permanent setup, 402 Waterfowl utilizes multiple properties and habitat types to stay mobile throughout the season. Grain fields may be productive when geese are feeding heavily, while ponds, sloughs, wetlands, and river locations can provide excellent opportunities as ducks move through the area.

Hunts typically feature action throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.

Breakfast is provided in the blind each hunting day, allowing hunters to stay comfortable and focused on the hunt while birds are moving.

3-Day Hunt with Lodging

What to Bring

Nebraska weather can change quickly. Temperature swings of 30–40 degrees within a 24-hour period are possible, so hunters should come prepared with multiple layers.

Recommended equipment includes:

• Required Nebraska hunting licenses, permits, and stamps
• 12- or 20-gauge shotgun
• Blind bag
• Waterproof and windproof jacket and/or bibs

• Knee boots or waders
