Looking to enjoy a full charter experience without reserving the entire boat? Our split charters are the perfect solution. Step aboard the Thirsty Mermaid and join a small group of anglers for a day of exciting inshore fishing in the productive waters of Long Island Sound and Fishers Island Sound.
Split charters are ideal for individuals or small groups who want to fish but may not have enough people to book a private trip. You’ll share the boat with other fishing enthusiasts, but still receive the same professional service, top-tier gear, and hands-on support as a private charter.
We’ll target a variety of inshore species such as Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke (Summer Flounder), Blackfish, Sea Bass, Porgies, and False Albacore, depending on the season and conditions. Techniques may include drifting, trolling, bottom fishing, or topwater casting, all tailored to the day’s conditions and the group’s preferences.
Our experienced first mate is available throughout the trip to assist with everything from baiting hooks to landing fish, making these trips accessible and enjoyable for anglers of all skill levels.
Split Charter Details
- Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Duration: 5 hours
- Departure Time: 7:00 AM
- Return Time: 12:00 PM
- Rate: $150 per person
- Minimum of 3 passengers required to sail. A Solo person can book, we will have to still have a group of 3 to sail. So go ahead and book your date. We will look for others to join on same date to make a group.
All fishing gear, bait, fuel, fish cleaning and hands-on assistance are included—just bring your own food and drinks. These trips are offered on a limited basis and tend to fill up quickly, so early booking is recommended.

Throughout his life, John has been actively involved in the hunting scene, developing a passion for hunting from a young age. He grew up in an environment where hunting was a significant part of his life, often accompanying his father on hunting expeditions and assisting him in teaching hunter safety classes as a young adult.
Over the years, John's love for hunting has evolved into a desire to help others experience the joys of the outdoors and find success in hunting. John understands the importance of imparting knowledge and teaching essential skills to newcomers, as he experienced the same guidance and mentorship during his early hunting days.
