About this trip
Experience the thrill of hunting in one of the last great havens for wild bobwhite quail at Plaska Lodge, located in the heart of the Texas Panhandle. Our unique location and intensive management practices allow us to maintain robust populations of wild birds, averaging 15-20 coveys a day, with some hunters even exceeding thirty. This 2-day, 3-night hunt is designed for both seasoned hunters and those looking to embark on their first upland bird hunting adventure.
Your hunting package includes everything you need for a successful and comfortable trip, such as:
- Home-cooked meals
- Comfortable lodging with private bedrooms
- Transportation around the ranch
- Cleaning and cold storage of your birds
For an additional fee of $350 per group, per day, a professional guide and trained dogs can be arranged to enhance your hunting experience. We limit the number of hunters each year to ensure the health of our quail populations, so be sure to book your adventure in advance. Come build a hunting story with us that you will be proud to tell your grandchildren some day. Join us at Plaska Lodge, where legendary Texas hospitality meets world-class hunting!

Hunt Rules & Lodge Guidelines
To ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone at Plaska Lodge, please review the following rules and expectations:
Ethical Hunting Practice:
As with all ethical sport hunts, our focus is not only on a successful experience, but also on the long-term health of the game populations we pursue. In the spirit of responsible conservation, we ask that after taking a few birds from a covey rise, you move on rather than pursuing singles. This practice allows coveys to regroup, reproduce, and thrive for future seasons.
Firearm Safety:
No loaded firearms are allowed inside the lodge or vehicles at any time. Always handle your weapons safely and respectfully.
Alcohol & Substance Policy:
Alcohol and prohibited substances are not allowed before or during any hunting activity. This includes any drug or substance made illegal under Texas law. Safety in the field is our top priority.
Licensing:
All hunters must have a valid and up-to-date Texas hunting license with an Upland Game Bird Stamp.
Lodge Etiquette:
- No smoking or pets are allowed in the lodge. Hunting dogs can be kept in our outdoor kennels or you may bring your own crate to put into the barn.
- Please bring a pair of indoor shoes, as hunting boots are not permitted inside.
Accommodations:
Private bedrooms are provided, along with fresh linens and towels. Complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and juice will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy after hunting hours.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding—we’re committed to giving you an incredible hunting experience while maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all.
