Montana Scenic River Trips
Up to 6 Guests
About
There’s no better way to experience Montana than from the water. Our Class I Scenic River Floats are intentionally unhurried, immersive experiences designed for guests who want to disconnect, slow down, and take in the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet rhythms of four of Montana’s most iconic rivers.
Float through broad valleys, past cottonwood bottoms and open ranchland, with frequent wildlife sightings and endless photo-worthy views. Whether you choose the Big Hole, Jefferson, Madison, or Yellowstone River, each float delivers a distinct sense of place—peaceful, scenic, and deeply Montanan.
Guides do the rowing, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. These trips are ideal for families, first-time river guests, and anyone who values scenery, conversation, and calm water over whitewater thrills. Children ages 10 and up are welcome. These trips are no fishing trips.
- Total experience: approximately 2–3 hours
- Time on the river: approximately 1–1.5 hours
- Timing varies with river conditions, access points, and group pace.
- Comfortable Rafts – up to 6 guests
- Private Drift Boats – 2 guests
- Inflatable Boats – 1–2 guests
Riverside Picnic Experience
One of the highlights of every scenic float is our riverside picnic lunch—a signature part of the experience and a favorite among guests.
Midway through the trip, your guide will pull over at a scenic riverbank or grassy bar where you can step out, stretch your legs, and enjoy a thoughtfully prepared picnic in a quiet, natural setting. Expect fresh, flavorful food, relaxed conversation, and the simple luxury of dining with the river flowing by and mountains in the distance.
This is not a rushed stop—it’s a chance to linger, reconnect, and enjoy Montana at its best.
Every trip is led by experienced, professional river guides with Wilderness First Aid (or higher), CPR, and Swiftwater Rescue certification. Our guides manage all logistics, river conditions, and safety considerations so you can relax and fully enjoy the day.
