New Mexico Ibex Hunts

Compass West Outfitters’ New Mexico ibex hunts take place in the southern Florida Mountains, a rugged free-range landscape known locally as “the rock.” This is one of North America’s most coveted and demanding draw hunts, offering hunters the chance to pursue wild Persian ibex in steep, unforgiving country near the Mexico border.

Rifle and muzzleloader hunts are conducted with a 2-guides-to-1-hunter format, using careful glassing, spot-and-stalk tactics, and a spotter positioned below as hunters work into range. Compass West reports a 99% harvest rate on rifle and muzzleloader ibex over the years.

Bow ibex hunts are available as a true challenge for serious archery hunters, and youth-only options provide a longer hunt window. All ibex hunts are designed to help hunters make the most of a rare, once-in-a-lifetime New Mexico tag.

All ibex hunts are plus lodging and meals. Hunters should secure the appropriate New Mexico ibex draw tag before the hunt.
