Many of these Addax were imported from the Sahara Desert to Hill Country ranches in the 1970s and have since thrived in the Texas Hill Country environment. Notably, the region has produced the Top 10 World Record Addax, further solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for Addax hunting enthusiasts.

Embarking on an Addax hunt at the Texas Hunt Lodge promises not only an exciting and challenging adventure but also the opportunity to harvest a trophy-worthy specimen that will be cherished for years to come.

Trophy Nyala:

We also provide the opportunity to hunt and harvest the magnificent Trophy Nyala Antelope, an exquisite addition to any trophy room. Our hunts for Trophy Nyala are available year-round, with no seasonal restrictions, allowing for a rewarding trophy pursuit at any time of the year.

Our priority is to accommodate hunters of all ages and experience levels, ensuring an inclusive and enjoyable hunting experience.

The Nyala Antelope found in the Texas Hill Country area are rare gems, with only a few becoming available each year. Most of our Trophy Nyala Rams boast impressive horn lengths in the 26-28″ range, adding to their allure as prized trophies.

Originating from Southern Africa, Nyala Antelopes have captivated hunters worldwide with their striking beauty and challenging hunts.

Trophy Impala:

We will take you to Kerr County, Texas for your Trophy Impala Ram Hunt. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting Big Trophy Impala in Texas, which makes the Impala a suitable trophy year-round.

We typically let our hunters choose the method of hunting Trophy Impala Rams that they prefer. Hunters of Trophy Impala can choose the Spot and Stalk method, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, or Handgun. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level, as well as hunters with disabilities.

This safari hunt may be taken anytime of year as Impala do not lose their horns…they just keep growing as most African Game will do. Most of our Impala will score Gold Medal Class, low 20’s on the horn length.

Originating from the savannas and woodlands of southern Africa, the Impala has adapted well to the Texas landscape, offering hunters a thrilling and exotic wildlife hunting experience without the need to travel overseas. With your guide, you can practice tracking and use camouflage to get closer to your prey.

Rules

What to bring:

In terms of lodging amenities, we provide food, drinks, beer, comfortable beds, towels, soap, and shampoo. However, we recommend that you bring the following items with you:

  • Binoculars
  • Personal toiletries and medication
  • Pre-sighted gun and ammunition (we do offer rifle rentals for $25 per day)
  • Appropriate clothing (please check the weather forecast in advance for Ingram, TX, to prepare for potential rain or extreme temperatures)
  • Coolers if you plan to take meat home

Animal Skinning Policy:

  • Our guides will skin your animal for a Shoulder Mount, Pedestal Mount or Rug. Our guides do not take the capes off the skull. If you require life-size or half life-size skinning, or need the cape taken off the skull, we will call our taxidermists to skin the animal appropriately. In this case, a small skinning fee is added to the invoice typically in the $25-$50 range per animal.

  • If you want to have your cape expedited/shipped, we will have our taxidermists flesh and salt the capes, then ship when dry. Keep in mind that they do need to dry and typically are not available to take home with you right away salted.

Meat Processing Options:

  • The majority of our clients use Bernhard’s Meat Processing in Ingram, TX for their meat processing. Bernhard’s has been in Business for over 60 years and is one of the most trusted wild game meat processors in the State. Bernhard’s Website and Meat Processing Options can be found online here: http://www.bernhardmeat.com/deerpro1.htm

  • Meat Processing times will vary with the size of the animal. Whitetail, Hogs, African Game will typically hang for 7 days, then processed exactly how you order (2 steaks to a package, 1lb Burger packaging with beef fat or brisket, etc.) Sausage and other cured products will take a bit longer as there are more steps to the process.

  • Bernhard’s Meat Processing ships Nationwide either via FedEx 2nd day or Refrigerated Freight (you typically need at least 300 lbs. of meat for Freight and have shipped to a business address).

  • Alternatively, we can quarter your animals and put them in a cooler so you can take them home with you with the exception of Buffalo and Elk. Buffalo and Elk must go to the Meat Processor for skinning and Quartering due to the size of the animal (there will be a charge for this typically in the $200 range per animal)

  • Our guides only Skin for Rug or Shoulder/Pedestal mount and Quarter the animals…we do not break down the muscle groups or take off the bone. We will hang these quarters in our Walk-in Cooler at the lodge and help you load when you are ready. Please keep in mind the time of year for this process…if it is 90 degrees outside time is of the essence and it may be best to go strait to the processor.
