Guided Saskatchewan Sandhill Crane Hunts - Lucky Lake Hunting Adventures
Location: Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada
Region: Prairie Pothole Region – Coteau Hills
Species: Sandhill Cranes
Season: Early Fall (dates vary annually)
Lucky Lake Hunting Adventures offers a premier Saskatchewan Sandhill Crane experience in the heart of the prairie pothole region. Saskatchewan owned and operated, Lucky Lake has been decoying Sandhill cranes since 2005.
Often called the “ribeye of the sky,” Sandhill cranes are both a prized table bird and a true prairie trophy. Lucky Lake benefits from early migrating cranes that arrive well before peak pressure, providing consistent opportunities over decoys.
Cranes are hunted just like waterfowl—over high-quality full-body decoy spreads from layout or A-frame blinds. With three full-time spotters on the road locating fresh feeds daily, groups stay on active birds for high-quality decoying opportunities.
This is a fully hosted experience designed for hunters who want professional scouting, comfortable accommodations, and smooth logistics from airport pickup to departure.

About Lucky Lake Hunting Adventures
Saskatchewan owned and operated since 2005, Lucky Lake Hunting Adventures delivers a true Canadian prairie hunting experience in the heart of the Coteau Hills—just 90 minutes south of Saskatoon and minutes from Ducks Unlimited Project Luck Lake and the shores of Lake Diefenbaker and the South Saskatchewan River.
Located in Saskatchewan’s renowned prairie pothole region, our area supports massive nesting populations of ducks throughout the summer, followed by heavy migrations of specklebelly, Canada, and snow geese, Sandhill cranes, and countless ducks each fall. We also maintain healthy local populations of Hungarian partridge and sharp-tailed grouse.
All hunt packages include airport pickup and return in Saskatoon, home-cooked meals, lodge accommodations, two hunts per day, and bird cleaning. Our all-inclusive offerings also cover shotgun rentals, ammunition, licenses, and applicable taxes—allowing guests to focus entirely on the hunt.
We host only one group in the lodge at a time, ensuring all staff and resources are dedicated exclusively to your experience. With a high staff-to-client ratio and professional scouting, we keep hunts fresh and operations running smoothly. While we prefer field groups of six hunters or fewer for quality setups, we accommodate both smaller and larger groups depending on your preference—this is your hunt, and group size is always your choice.
Whether you’re planning a bucket-list Canadian adventure or returning for your annual waterfowl tradition, Lucky Lake Hunting Adventures looks forward to hosting you for a true prairie hunting experience.
