About this trip
Experience world-class waterfowl hunting in the legendary Peace River Country of Alberta, where countless migrating birds arrive each fall with little to no hunting pressure. This is a destination that serious waterfowl hunters dream about—a place where fresh northern birds, incredible migrations, and liberal bag limits come together to create unforgettable days in the field.
Your adventure is based near Grande Prairie, Alberta, a convenient hub with a major airport that makes travel simple and efficient. From there, you'll head into some of the most productive duck and goose habitat in North America.
Each day is built around the birds. Depending on migration patterns and weather, your morning may begin in a pea field targeting giant Canada geese before transitioning to an afternoon duck hunt, or vice versa. On many days, ducks and geese work the very same fields, creating nonstop action and exciting mixed-bag opportunities.
Our primary field hunts take place over harvested pea fields using comfortable laydown blinds or natural stand-up willow blinds. When ducks shift away from the fields, we have access to countless hidden "honey holes" including secluded ponds, dugouts, sloughs, and lakes where fast-paced water hunts provide unforgettable shooting.
The Peace River region consistently produces exceptional numbers of:
- Mallards
- Northern Pintails
- Canada Geese
- Specklebelly (Greater White-fronted) Geese
- Occasional Snow Geese
Alberta also offers some of the most generous waterfowl regulations on the continent, allowing hunters to harvest up to 8 ducks and 8 geese per day, with a three-day possession limit, giving you the opportunity for an incredible mixed bag throughout your hunt.
Whether you're watching greenheads lock up over the decoys at sunrise or hearing the thunder of honkers dropping into the spread, every hunt is designed to maximize opportunity while showcasing the incredible abundance that has made Alberta famous among waterfowl hunters worldwide.
If you're looking for an authentic Canadian waterfowl adventure with incredible bird numbers, diverse hunting opportunities, and memories that will last a lifetime, the Eagle Lakes Alberta Waterfowl Hunt belongs at the top of your bucket list.
