About
4 Hour Trip: Range: 5 miles. Targeted Species: Spanish mackerel, Sharks, Bluefish, Bonito. Our 4-hour trip will always have you in sight of land; we generally go no more than 5 miles offshore for this trip. A typical day will be trolling for Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish and Bonito for the first half then drifting for a big shark during the last half of the trip. During the fall months (mainly mid to late October through November) this trip can also produce King Mackerel.
6 Hour Trip: Range: 20 miles. Targeted Species: King Mackerel, Mahi, Barracuda, Sailfish, and Cobia. For this trip we like to slow troll with either live or dead bait and utilize *LIGHT TACKLE while also using a run and gun style of fishing, meaning that if they aren’t biting we will run somewhere else until we find them. When we say light tackle we mean 15-20 pound class live bait rods with light line, still plenty heavy enough to get the job done but gives the angler a great fight especially when hooked up to a smoker King or big Mahi!
8 Hour Trip: Range: 30 Miles. Targeted Species: King Mackerel, Mahi, Sailfish, Barracuda, Amberjack, Grouper, Snapper, Sea bass. For the 8 hour trip we will also utilize the slow trolling technique just like in the 6 hour trip but in much more productive waters with a better shot at a mahi but can also go live baiting over shipwrecks for amberjack and cobia. This style of fishing can be extremely action packed if the fish are there and hungry and can always provide a variety of different species and entertainment. You never know what might swim up to the boat while chumming the waters with live bait over a wreck.
12 Hour Trip: Range: 55 miles. Targeted Species: Vermillion Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Hog Nose Snapper, triggerfish, and more. The 12 hour bottom fishing trip we'll take you about 55 miles out to the very rich, deep waters in the Gulf Stream. On this trip you'll be fishing for MONSTER red, gag, scamp and the occasional black grouper as well as big Vermillion Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Hog Nose Snapper and triggerfish just to name a few. Get ready for a workout on this trip, the fish are big, the water is deep and its usually pretty steady action.
12 Hour Gulfstream Trip: Range: 50+ Miles. Targeted Species: Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi, Sailfish, Marlin, Amberjack, Snapper, and Grouper. This trip will take you to all the way to the gulfstream and to where the continental shelf starts to drop off into the depths. You will more than likely be targeting the biggest, strongest and best eating fish available off of our coast. We mainly troll using heavy tackle due to the size of the fish on this trip, although we will sometimes bottom fish if the troll bite is slow.
- Best months for Wahoo: October – February
- Best months for Blackfin Tuna October - May
- **Best months for Mahi: Late April to early May
- * Mahi can be caught in good numbers while fishing the gulfstream on a full day trip from Late April to early May but can also be caught periodically throughout the summer while trolling for king mackerel.

My passion for saltwater fishing started at a very young age when my dad would take me every winter to Charleston South Carolina to chase big bull redfish on the flats. I knew from that moment on that saltwater fishing is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.
While I have fished since I was old enough to hold a rod, I started doing it for a career at age 19 at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center. I started off as a mate and quickly worked my way up to Captain and before I knew it I was running offshore fishing charters for the Ocean Isle Fishing Center. I did this as I was attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and graduated with a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. During this time I did an internship down in the Florida Keys where I would also work on charter boats during my days off from working at Hawks Cay Resort. During my last couple years in school I had to find a job a little closer to the university. That was when I started my time as a mate on the legendary Whipsaw Charter boat out of Wrightsville Beach. I would work for Whipsaw all throughout the summer and fall then switch gears in the winter and work for the Ocean Isle Fishing Center in the winter for the Bluefin Tuna season in the outer banks. In the fall you can find me competing in numerous King Mackerel tournaments from North Carolina all the way down to Tampa Florida. Throughout my fishing career I have learned countless different ways to catch big fish but my favorite by far is on light tackle where applicable. Fishing is truly a passion of mine and I don’t plan on ever stopping. The most rewarding trip for me is to see someone experience how awesome saltwater fishing is for the first time and to create memories that will last a lifetime.
