About this trip
Tarpon Fishing Charter
Experience one of Florida's most iconic sportfishing adventures with Captain Bryan Foley and Next Catch Guide Service on a dedicated Tampa Bay tarpon charter.
Known as the Silver King, tarpon are famous for their size, strength, long runs, and explosive jumps. Each year, local and migratory tarpon gather throughout Tampa Bay and the surrounding Gulf waters, creating a limited seasonal opportunity to target one of the most powerful gamefish found along Florida's coast.
Peak tarpon fishing typically takes place from late spring through the middle of August. During this period, Captain Bryan focuses specifically on locating and targeting tarpon as they move through Tampa Bay, passes, beaches, bridges, and surrounding waters.
Tarpon fishing is different from a traditional mixed-species charter. The objective is to locate these fish, understand how they are moving and feeding, position the boat correctly, and present the bait at the right opportunity. Conditions, tides, bait movement, and fish behavior can all influence the day's approach.
Some days may provide multiple opportunities while others require patience and persistence, but connecting with a large tarpon is an experience few anglers forget. Once hooked, anglers should be prepared for powerful runs, head-shaking jumps, and a demanding fight that can test both the angler and equipment.
Captain Bryan has spent more than a decade fishing Tampa Bay and the surrounding waters and specifically runs tarpon trips during the area's peak season. These charters are appropriate for experienced anglers looking to check a major gamefish off their list as well as first-time tarpon anglers ready to experience what makes this fishery famous.

Six hours gives Captain Bryan time to locate fish, follow their movement, and adjust throughout the trip as tides and conditions change. This is a strong option for anglers who want a dedicated tarpon experience without committing to the full ten-hour day.
