New Mexico Trophy Combo Hunts

Double O Outfitters – Elk & Mule Deer Combo Hunts in Units 51 & 52

Premier Guided Big Game Hunts in Northern New Mexico

If you’re looking for a high-quality Western big game experience, Double O Outfitters offers the perfect opportunity to pursue both Rocky Mountain elk and trophy-class mule deer in the scenic and game-rich landscapes of Units 51 and 52. Nestled in the Carson National Forest, these two neighboring units provide excellent habitat, strong animal populations, and a wide range of terrain that supports exciting and productive hunts.

Whether you’re chasing rutting bulls with a bow, or hard-horned mule deer bucks during the November rifle season, our fully guided combo hunts deliver expert guidance, excellent public land access, and a true New Mexico hunting adventure.

Hunt Units Overview – 51 & 52

Units 51 and 52 are known for producing 250–300+ class bulls and mature, high-quality mule deer bucks. With a mix of timbered ridges, meadows, drainages, and mountainous terrain, these areas offer both challenging and accessible terrain for hunters of all ability levels. Elk herds are healthy, and mule deer populations are well-managed with balanced age structures. Both units are hunted via public draw or landowner tags, and we can assist you with every step of the licensing and application process.

These hunts are ideal for hunters who want to maximize their time afield by pursuing two iconic Western species in the same trip. However, to harvest both elk and mule deer, you must draw tags for both species in the same unit. If only one tag is drawn, you may add a turkey or black bear hunt to create a two- or three-species package.
