Montana Mountain Goat Hunts
Up to 2 Guests
About
Montana Llama Guides is permitted to offer guided goat hunts in district 312-20 by special draw only for resident and non-residents. Deadline for this drawing is May 1 each year. Please visit Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks for more information.
Our big game hunting area is an alpine playground. Our high alpine camp is situated just at treeline with towering peaks all around. The area boasts 50 peaks exceeding 10,000 feet and has been described as "mountain goats dance upon the craggy ridge lines above alpine lakes". We'll use our trail harden pack llamas as the beast of burden to pack in our camp and help pack out your trophy mountain goat.
Upon a successful drawing of a goat tag for HD 312-20, we can then build a custom trip for you. The season generally begins the first of September and goes through the end of November. Due to the nature of mountain goat hunting in the high alpine environment, we suggest booking your hunt the end of September or the first 2 weeks of October. Once snow starts to fly, accessing the higher country can prove challenging and, in some instances, inaccessible.
