Rules
What should I Bring?
- Saltwater Fishing License. Residents or non-Residents required.
- Refreshments. Bring whatever food and drinks you will need for a full day on the water. Water is important to prevent dehydration. If you bring beer, only bring cans (no glass).
- Dry Bag. A small dry bag is a good idea, although not necessary, to bring for carrying, hat, glasses etc. and other personal items that you may need while fishing.
- Rain wear will be provided.
- Sunglasses. Polarized fishing glasses are recommended, if you have them, to lessen the sun’s glare that reflects off the water.
- Camera. Bring a camera to document the big fish you catch or video the beautiful Gulf Coast or marsh sights.
- Head gear. A brimmed hat, visor, or ball cap is a good idea.
- Dramamine or Bonine. If you get seasick, or aren’t sure if you do, it’s a good idea to take this or other similar product the night before a day trip. We recommend Bonine over Dramamine because it causes less drowsiness
- Sun Protection. Make sure you bring sunscreen. You may also consider long sleeve fishing shirts or t‐shirts.
- Cooler. Bring a cooler to transport your catch home.
- Plastic bags will be provided for your cleaned catch to bring home.
All guided trips will originate from the Coco Marina in Cocodrie located on Hwy 56. The common jest about Cocodrie is that “we’re at the end of the world”. Specifically, the Coco Marina is 30 miles south of Houma on Hwy 56 just above the “End of the Road”. There are three options as far as lodging goes. You can arrive the evening before the charter and relax, have a great meal at the restaurant and watch the beautiful sunset as you unwind in the Marina bar. You can stay at one of hotels in Houma and drive down that morning of the charter or you can just drive down that morning. I strongly recommend that you stay in one of the Coco Marina’s spacious rooms so the morning of the charter there are no surprises. You are responsible for making your own reservations which ever option you choose. If you choose to stay at the Coco Marina tell them you are on a charter with Capt. Mike.
This outfitter currently has no lodging available.
