The Big Outdoors Charters is located in Hopedale, Louisiana. Just 40 minutes from downtown New Orleans, Hopedale is known as, “The fishing Capital of the World.” This unique marsh estuary is home to the greatest inshore fishing know to mankind. The combination of saltwater marshes and freshwater estuaries creates a natural breeding and nursery ground for many species of finfish and crustaceans; which attract millions of saltwater and freshwater fish. This combination makes Louisiana a true “Fishing Paradise” and attracts anglers from all over the world!

STANDARD OFFSHORE

Enjoy a day fishing with captain Brady in Venice Louisiana chasing yellowfin tuna, swordfish and other pelagic species. Capt. Brady has had a love for fishing since he was young. He grew up fishing the entire Gulf Coast region and has been chasing fish from inshore to offshore for as long as he can remember. Capt. Brady is an easy going, 100% professional, that lends his expertise every step of the way while ensuring you not only catch fish but have an Awesome experience ! Hop on board our 39' Contender powered by 3-350 HP Yamaha engines. This fast, agile, and comfortable boat will get you and your crew to the fishing grounds quickly. Outfitted with the lastest Garmin electronics and top of the line fishing gear can make all the difference when you're fishing a full day! The day before the trip Capt. Brady Will contact you and do a quick overview of your target spices of fish and arranged a meet time and location for your departure the next day. The morning of your trip you will arrive at the marina and load your food and drinks into our boat. Once all gear and guest are loaded in the boat you will take a ride due south in the mighty Mississippi River for approximately 23 miles until you meet the Gulf of Mexico. Once in the gulf depending on your target species you may or may not stop to catch live bait. If you decide target yellowfin tuna you will stop and catch live bait. This process may take an hour or up to 2 hours to assure you have plenty of live bait for the day. After bait is made you will venture out to the target fishing grounds where the fishing begins. The ride to the fishing grounds can be 30 minutes up to 2 hours. Once the fishing is over you will make the journey back to the dock where capt Brady will clean and package your catch of the day. This trip runs approximately 8 - 10 hrs from start to finish.

OFFSHORE DEEP DROPPING

On our Deep drip offshore trip we will meet at our dock early in the morning to load your group along with your food and drinks into our boats. Shortly after all the gear and guests are loaded in the boat we will depart from our dock before sunrise. We make our way through the marshes of Hopedale in the dark and continue our journey into the Gulf Of Mexico. We will have approximately an hour boat ride to the area where we will stop and catch live bait. We will target a few different species of live bait, this process can take up to an hour. After we have caught enough live bait we will continue our journey further south to our fishing ground. We will target many different species of fish on this trip, our captains will give you the best scenario on what species of fish you will have the most success with and what species are in season. Throughout the day we will fish numerous spots including, wrecks, natural bottom, rigs, ledges, and rock piles to target our fish for the day. Once the fishing is over we will make our journey back to the dock where your captain will clean and bag your catch for the day. This trip runs approximately 10- 12 hours from start to finish. For the serious offshore anglers our Deep Drop offshore trip offers more of an opportunity to catch multiple different species of bottom fish. We can tailor this trip to the clients expectation. Throughout the day we will fish wrecks, natural bottom, rigs, ledges, and rock piles and target numerous grouper species, Amberjack, Redsnapper, Tilefish, B-liners, and many more deep water fish if in season. You will fish depths from 250 ft upwards of 1400 ft of water. We will provide multiple electric reels, jigging rods, and hand crank reels for the trip.
