About this trip

All Inclusive Texas Panhandle Free Range Archery White-tail and Mule Deer Bundle

Be the first to chase some of the best white-tail and mule deer trophy genetics in Texas with our all-inclusive archery package!

Experience the unmatched thrill of bowhunting both whitetail and mule deer in one of the few regions where both species are equally abundant—and where trophy-quality genetics are the standard. This all-inclusive 3-day, 4-night hunt offers everything you need for an unforgettable adventure at Plaska Lodge:

  • Home-cooked meals
  • Comfortable lodging with private bedrooms
  • Transportation around the ranch
  • Cleaning, quartering, and cold storage of your harvest
  • Free varmint and hog hunting if you tag out early

Our archery hunts are conducted from tree stands, ground blinds, and brush blinds set over feeders, travel corridors, and food plots—with spot-and-stalk opportunities when conditions allow. Hunts are typically semi-guided, but fully guided hunts can be arranged in advance for an additional daily fee.

Pricing:

  • Base price: $2,950 per archery hunter
  • Trophy fee: $1,000 upon harvest of either species
  • Second trophy (other species): $2,000 kill fee if harvested

This hunt offers a rare opportunity to pursue both mule deer and whitetail during the same trip, something only a few regions in North America can provide.

Trophy Requirements:

  • Whitetail bucks must score 135” B&C or higher
  • Mule deer bucks must have a minimum 20” outside spread

An additional $1,000 fine applies for any deer harvested below these thresholds. We strongly encourage all hunters to review our educational resources prior to the hunt. At the lodge, we also offer a collection of mounts and skulls to help sharpen your field judging skills.

Plaska Lodge is uniquely positioned just off the Llano Estacado Caprock in the Texas Panhandle, offering access to an incredible variety of terrain. From rugged canyon country and juniper breaks to mesquite flats, winding river bottoms, and prickly pear-covered sand dunes, our landscape is as diverse as the game that inhabits it. It’s in these areas—and the agricultural fields scattered between—that our free-range Plaska Giants roam.

Over the years, we’ve harvested many white-tails scoring over 160", with our best breaking into the high 180s. We’ve also taken some exceptional mule deer, including a few pushing the high 190s. This unique archery hunt gives you the rare opportunity to pursue trophy white-tail and mule deer before any rifle season opens—when these bucks are undisturbed and at their most patternable.

While the main focus of this hunt is white-tail, we never pass up the chance to chase a big muley when one’s in the area. Mule deer are a transient species, and you never know when a true giant might show up.

If you’re looking to kick off your season with a true adventure and put your stick and string to the test on free-range Texas deer, look no further than Plaska Lodge—where legendary Texas hospitality meets world-class hunting.
