At Plaska Lodge, we pride ourselves on our commitment to responsible hunting practices. All bucks must be a minimum of 135 inches, and a $1,000 fine will be imposed for any harvested buck under this size. We provide resources such as videos, articles, and personal tips to help you prepare for your hunt. Our lodge is adorned with deer skulls that we can use to teach you how to score trophies on the hoof.

Groups of four or more will enjoy exclusive access to the lodge and ranch, ensuring a private and personalized experience.

The Texas Panhandle is known for its superior genetics, resulting in deer that often double the body size of those found in other parts of the state. With intensive management practices and abundant forage, we proudly refer to our deer as Plaska Monsters, with many surpassing 160 inches in the past 30 years and our best reaching the high 180s.

Hunt Rules & Lodge Guidelines

To ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone at Plaska Lodge, please review the following rules and expectations:

Trophy Policy:

This is a trophy-only hunt. Bucks must score 135 inches Boone & Crockett or better. Harvesting a buck below this minimum will result in a $1,000 penalty. No exceptions.

Firearm Safety:

No loaded firearms are allowed inside the lodge or vehicles at any time. Always handle your weapons safely and respectfully.

Alcohol & Substance Policy:

Alcohol and prohibited substances are not allowed before or during any hunting activity. This includes any drug or substance made illegal under Texas law. Safety in the field is our top priority.

Licensing:

All hunters must have a valid and up-to-date Texas hunting license for white-tailed deer.

Lodge Etiquette:

• No smoking or pets are allowed in the lodge.
• Please bring a pair of indoor shoes, as hunting boots are not permitted inside.

Accommodations:

Private bedrooms are provided, along with fresh linens and towels. Complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and juice will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy after hunting hours.
