Cast and Blast adventure

For the avid outdoor enthusiast, if duck hunting alone isn't sufficient, we present the renowned Louisiana Cast and Blast combo. Experience the thrill of duck hunting in the morning followed by an afternoon of fishing. It's a full day of continuous excitement, from ducks gracefully landing in the decoys to filling up the ice chest with redfish and speckled trout.

What to expect?

The day before your trip, Captain Britt will contact you to arrange the details for your upcoming hunt. You'll likely need to drive to a designated boat launch where you'll meet your captain for the day. The distance to these boat launches can vary, ranging from a quick 2-minute drive to a longer 1-hour journey. To ensure everything goes smoothly, it's essential that you arrive on time and fully prepared to load yourself and your gear onto our mud boats. Once the mud boat is loaded with the hunting crew and equipment, we'll set off in the predawn darkness to reach our chosen hunting location. Upon arrival at the hunting spot, we'll begin the preparations for your hunt. This involves setting out decoys to attract birds and ensuring the mud boat is appropriately camouflaged for the hunt. The actual hunting will commence at daybreak and typically continue until around 9 or 10 AM. However, we prefer not to set a strict timeline for the hunt, as the duration can vary depending on the movement of the birds. Our focus is on providing you with a successful and enjoyable hunting experience! In our summer months we fish the natural gas rigs, and wrecks in our outer bays known as Breton Sound, Black Bay, and Bay Eloi. Our bait of choice to put those big healthy trout on ice is live shrimp and live croakers! In our winter months we fish the interior marsh for speckled trout. Our bait of choice is live shrimp under a cork or artificial lures under a cork. Typically on this trip you will fish for speckled trout for a bit and then venture back into the marsh to fish the rest of the day for redfish! Our reds will be in our marsh patrolling the banks in search of those live shrimp you will have at the end or your cork!
