California Guide Service Diver and Sea Duck Hunting

Are you planning a vacation or work trip near San Francisco during waterfowl season? Consider one of the most unique experiences that the city can offer combining duck hunting with the scenery of Northern California.   Whether you are adventuring on your first duck hunt or you are a seasoned waterfowler, we are dedicated to

make your experience memorable.  We shoot from a comfortable, safe, sea worthy 25’ Bankes Titan in open water of the San Francisco Bay and surrounding areas where surf scoters winter. They are a fun challenge for wing shooters of all levels and look stunning on the wall. Diver ducks, such as scaup and buffleheads often fly by for added opportunities. We can customize any hunt for a specific species subject to availability. 

Sea Ducks

You will need a California Hunting License, California duck validation, HIP, and Federal Duck Stamp. Sea Ducks are hunted from a boat. Warm gloves, hat and face mask make the ride more comfortable. Wear warm waterproof layers that are neutral or camouflage. Bring a shotgun with non-lead ammunition. #4 to #2 steel shot sizes work well. 3” or 3 1/2” shells are recommended. Bring 3 to 4 boxes of shells for each hunt. This is a saltwater hunt and cleaning your gun after the hunt is highly recommended to prevent rust or damage. The hunt will be a morning hunt and usually done by noon. Don’t forget to pack a snack.

Diver Ducks

Diver ducks are generally hunted from a bank with rising brackish waters. Waders or tall waterproof boots are recommended. Everything else that is recommended for sea ducks is also recommended for Divers. Be Safe. Have Fun. Let’s Adventure.

Prices:

Group sizes are a minimum of 2 hunters, and a maximum of 4-6. Sea duck hunts are groups of 4 and diver hunts from the bank are up to groups of 6. We charge $300 per gun with a $600 a day minimum.
