All-Inclusive Trophy Whitetail Hunt in the Texas Panhandle

More than two decades ago, the founder of Plaska Lodge—frustrated by the widespread mismanagement of local deer populations and the premature harvesting of young bucks—set out to create something extraordinary: a game preserve in some of the roughest terrain in the region. After four grueling summers of labor with his two young sons, they closed the gates on a preserve holding some of the best genetics in Texas. Our deer routinely exceed 275 pounds in body weight and have the potential for record-book antler growth when allowed to reach maturity.

The vision was never about creating an easy hunt, but about managing a population where bucks could grow to their full potential—giving hunters the chance to pursue truly mature whitetail. While new genetics have occasionally been introduced to maintain health and diversity, the spirit of the hunt remains unchanged.

This is not a “pen hunt” for tame deer. These are intelligent, mature bucks that spook at the first sign of danger. Success is never guaranteed, and every hunt brings the same challenge and excitement you’d expect outside the fence. Our preferred method is spot-and-stalk—an opportunity few hunters ever experience—but we also offer blinds and feeders for those who prefer a more traditional setup.

Our all-inclusive trophy whitetail hunts include everything needed for a safe, comfortable, and successful hunt:

• 3 full days of hunting / 4 nights of lodging

All Inclusive Pricing:

• 8 pts or less (up to 129 B&C): $4,500
• 130–149 B&C: $6,000
• 150–159 B&C: $7,000
• 160–169 B&C: $8,000
• 170–179 B&C: $9,000
• 180–189 B&C: $11,500
• 190–199 B&C: $13,500
• 200–219 B&C: $15,500
• 220–249 B&C: $17,500
• 250"+ B&C: $20,500

Additional Options:

• Extra hunting days: $1,250/day
• Non-hunting guests: $250/day

A $2,500 deposit is required to reserve your hunt. This deposit is applied toward your final total. If the hunt is unsuccessful, you won’t be charged for the trophy—only for additional days or guest fees, if applicable. If you harvest multiple trophies, you’ll receive a $1,000 discount on each additional animal.

We’re happy to adjust the length or structure of your hunt to suit your schedule, and we welcome all methods of take—rifle, bow, or otherwise.

Hunt Rules & Lodge Guidelines

To ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone at Plaska Lodge, please review the following rules and expectations:

Firearm Safety:

No loaded firearms are allowed inside the lodge or vehicles at any time. Always handle your firearm with care—keep it pointed in a safe direction, be mindful of your surroundings, and know what’s beyond your target.

Alcohol & Substance Policy:

Alcohol and prohibited substances are not allowed before or during any hunting activity. This includes any drug or substance made illegal under Texas law. Safety in the field is our top priority.

Licensing:

All hunters must have a valid and up-to-date Texas hunting license.

Lodge Etiquette:

• No smoking or pets are allowed in the lodge.
• Please bring a pair of indoor shoes, as hunting boots are not permitted inside.

Accommodations:

Private bedrooms are provided, along with fresh linens and towels. Complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and juice will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy after hunting hours.
