I have been an outdoors person for as long as I can remember. It was just a part of life. Spending time outdoors revitalizes me and makes me feel whole. I have fished since a child and after spending a tour in the Navy I returned to the Pacific NW where I grew up and went to college. After finishing up my education I looked in the local news paper (I know "what is that?") The add was for a pattern cutter, someone that could read cad drawings and mechanical drawings. I applied to the Fishing rod manufacturer that was hiring and went to work the next day. From there I became the Operations manager of both the rod and blank facilities and the rod and blank designer. I spent 20 years at Lamiglas before moving to Florida to take a job with Mud Hole Custom Tackle doing blank and equipment design. I also started their rod building class program which even today I still participate in. In 2014 I filled a dream I had had for a very long time, that was to get my captains license and start guiding. I began by doing 30-40 trips a year and worked it up to where I'm comfortable and like to maintain at around 150 trips a year.
