About
South Dakota Waterfowl Hunts at Falling Feathers Lodge
Location: North Central South Dakota
Season: Fall & Winter Waterfowl Season
Premier South Dakota Dry Field Waterfowl Hunting
At Falling Feathers Lodge, our waterfowl program is built around what South Dakota does best—dry field hunting. We primarily target ducks (and geese when they move in) in corn, soybean, and wheat fields, setting up where birds are feeding naturally and working traffic into the decoys.
Most hunts are conducted in dry fields using layout blinds and field setups, giving hunters a true South Dakota experience with fast finishes and high-action decoying.
When conditions call for it—weather shifts, migration patterns change, or birds relocate—our team will adapt and move to sloughs, potholes, and water options to stay on the birds and keep hunts productive.
Hunting Style & Setups
- Our focus is scout-first field hunting with flexible options:
- Dry agricultural fields (primary hunt style)
