At Texas Hunt Lodge, we pride ourselves on offering some of the most impressive Trophy Axis Bucks for hunters to pursue. Our hunting grounds in Kerr County are renowned for producing some of the largest Axis Deer in the world, and we maintain a year-round hunting schedule with no seasonal restrictions on Axis Deer hunts in Texas.

We have a proven track record of success in hunting Big Trophy Axis Deer, and our experienced guides will ensure that you have ample opportunities to spot and stalk these magnificent animals before taking your shot. Whether you prefer bow hunting, rifle hunting, black powder, handgun, or even Safari Style hunting, we tailor our approach to accommodate hunters of all ages, skill levels, and physical abilities.

The Trophy Axis Deer we hunt typically boast main beams in the impressive 30-32 inch range, with some rare specimens featuring 8-point Non-Typical racks or reaching lengths of 35 inches or more, earning them the designation of “Record Axis Deer.” These exceptional animals are exclusive to Kerr County, and we have proudly produced some of the largest Axis Deer in the world. Many of our trophy Axis Deer are expected to break records with organizations such as Trophy Game Records (TGR) and Safari Club International (SCI) this year.

For the best hunting experience, we recommend scheduling your Axis Deer hunt between May and the end of September, when 90% of our Big Axis Bucks are hard-horned and at their prime. This ensures optimal hunting conditions and the opportunity to harvest a truly exceptional Trophy Axis Deer. Our hunters can take advantage of high-quality camouflage gear, well-placed blinds, and expert tracking techniques to enhance their chances of success in diverse terrain. We ensure all necessary permits and licenses are in order, providing a seamless hunting experience.

Trophy Aoudad:

We specialize in providing hunters with the opportunity to pursue and harvest magnificent Trophy Aoudad Sheep, also known as Barbary Sheep. With hunts available year-round, there are no seasonal restrictions on hunting these impressive creatures in Texas, ensuring a thrilling trophy pursuit at any time of the year.

We understand that each hunter has their own preferences when it comes to hunting methods. That’s why we typically allow our hunters to choose their preferred approach. Whether you prefer the Spot and Stalk method, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, Safari Style Hunting, or hunting from a Blind, we cater to your individual preferences. Additionally, we pride ourselves on our ability to accommodate hunters of any age and experience level, as well as those with physical disabilities.

The Aoudad Rams that we hunt are all of trophy class, boasting impressive horn sizes. On average, the Aoudad Sheep we harvest have horns measuring around 30 inches. However, we frequently encounter Aoudad Rams with horns reaching upwards of 35 inches, making them truly remarkable trophy specimens.

Embarking on an Aoudad hunt with us requires patience and skill, as these animals are known for their elusive nature. However, with the guidance of our experienced team and the thrill of the chase, you’ll have the opportunity to harvest a Trophy Aoudad Sheep that you’ll be proud to display on your wall for years to come.

Trophy Blackbuck:

THL offers the opportunity to hunt and harvest the magnificent Blackbuck, a trophy you’ll proudly display on your wall. Our hunts provide the chance to pursue impressive Trophy Blackbuck Antelope, some with 4 and 5-curl horns. All of the Blackbuck Antelope we hunt are of trophy quality, with horns averaging between 18-19 inches straight line, and some reaching as large as 29 inches around the curl.

With no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Blackbuck Antelope in Texas, our hunts are available year-round, allowing you to plan your trophy hunt at your convenience.

The Scimitar Horned Oryx available for hunting range from Bulls to Cows, with horn lengths typically spanning from 30 to 45 inches and weighing over 400 lbs. Texas Hunt Lodge boasts multiple ranches where hunters can pursue these remarkable animals, with some ranches featuring older Scimitar Oryx with horn lengths exceeding 40 inches, presenting the opportunity for potential World Records. Trophy Bison:

Our ranch harbors a thriving herd of American Buffalo, providing exceptional hunting opportunities year-round. We hold multiple Bison World Records for various methods such as Crossbow, Archery, and Handgun. Our World Record Class Trophy Buffalo Hunts are available year-round, with no seasonal restrictions in Texas, ensuring a suitable trophy pursuit regardless of the time of year. Over the years, Texas Hunt Lodge has garnered numerous SCI and TGR World Record Buffalo Hunts. Each expedition is carefully planned to provide maximum excitement and minimal danger, thanks to our expert guides.

We offer hunters the flexibility to choose their preferred hunting method for Trophy Buffalo, whether it’s Spot and Stalk, Bow Hunting, Rifle Hunting, Black Powder, Safari Style Hunting, Handgun, or hunting from a Blind. Our experienced guides cater to hunters of all ages, experience levels, and physical abilities. We also provide all necessary gear, including binoculars and scopes, to ensure you spot your target with ease.

During your hunt with us, you can expect to encounter a remarkable sight of 20-50 Buffalo Bulls and Bison Cows. Our Record Class Buffalo bulls typically weigh between 1200 and 1500 pounds, with horns spanning the impressive 17-20 inch range. Recent hunts have resulted in the harvest of some remarkable Buffalo World Record Trophies, often achieved with the perfect shot using specialized ammunition.

What to bring:

In terms of lodging amenities, we provide food, drinks, beer, comfortable beds, towels, soap, and shampoo. However, we recommend that you bring the following items with you:

• Binoculars
• Personal toiletries and medication
• Pre-sighted gun and ammunition (we do offer rifle rentals for $25 per day)
• Appropriate clothing (please check the weather forecast in advance for Ingram, TX, to prepare for potential rain or extreme temperatures)
• Coolers if you plan to take meat home

Meat processing options:

• The majority of our clients use Bernhard´s Meat Processing in Ingram, TX for their meat processing. Bernhard´s has been in Business for over 6o years and is one of the most trusted wild game meat processors in the State. • Meat processing times will vary with the size of the animal. Whitetail, Hogs, African Game will typically hang for 7 days, then processed exactly how you order. Sausage and other products will take a bit longer as there are more steps to the process.
• Bernhard´s Meat processing ships Nationwide either via FedEx 2nd day or Refrigerated Freight (you typically need at least 300 lbs. of meat for Freight and have shipped to a business address.

Skinning Animal policy:

Our guides will skin your animal for a Shoulder Mount, Pedestal Mount or Rug. Our guides do not take the capes off the skull. If you require life-size or half life-size skinning, or need the cape taken off the skull, we will call our taxidermists to skin the animal appropriately. In this case, a small skinning fee is added to the invoice typically in the $25-$50 range per animal. If you want to have your cape expedited/shipping, we will have our taxidermists flesh and salt the capes, then ship when dry. Keep in mind that they do need to dry and typically are not available to take home with you right away salted.
