How often are the properties hunted?
- We only try to take 2-3 toms off a single property per season.
Is Kansas lottery draw or OTC?
- Kansas is a draw system, in past years it has been about 50% odds that you’ll get drawn with no preference point. Nearly 100% odds you’ll get drawn with 1 preference point.
What methods of hunting do you offer?
- Shotgun only
Is there a restriction on beard length or jakes?
- If it is legal to shoot, it is your choice to take whichever turkey you will go home happy with.
What is the success rate?
- So far it is 100% for years past
Where are we located?
- Our main lodge is in Yates Center, KS. We hunt a 50 mile radius.
How much land do we have?
- We lease roughly 7k acres in Kansas, and 2k in Missouri.
Are we a high fence ranch or free range?
- We are 100% free range hunts in Kansas and Missouri
What turkey unit are we in?
- Unit 6
How do I book a hunt?
- We require a 25% deposit to reserve dates, and after the draw results if you aquire a tag the remaining balance will be charged to your card 2 days prior to arriving.
How many hunters do you take in?
- For 2025 we are only taking in 15 hunters.
What if I don’t draw a tag?
- If you don’t draw a tag in Kansas, you can either put your deposit towards a Missouri hunt which is OTC, or be refunded your deposit.

Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
Legal Equipment: Recurve or compound bows and crossbows.
Permit Limit: One turkey with a visible beard per permit or game tag.
Bag Limit: One turkey with a visible beard per permit or game tag.
Dogs may not be used in spring season.

Legal Equipment: Shotguns using shot sizes 2-9; long, recurve or compound bows and crossbows.

Everyday we go out and watch the sunrise over our decoys we cant help but think of how magnificent our God is; and all the opportunities he has blessed us with. I hope our clients are able to experience this same appreciation with us.
When joining us at Split Wing you can expect to be hunting a wide variety of properties including dry grain fields, cattle ponds, sheet water, sloughs, and creeks.
We typically hunt once per day in the morning or sometimes in the evening, If the morning hunt doesn't go as planned we will do our best to put together a good evening hunt.
