River Ranch Waterfowl Hunting

Season: October 1 - October 31, December 1 - December 31

The Montana Mexican John Ranch provides exceptional waterfowl hunting during the month of October as well as from December 1 to December 31. Although there are plenty of ducks and geese to hunt during October, the December hunt will provide more action based on the migratory patterns.

Full Season: Geese and Ducks: October 1 - January 6

The day you arrive will be a half day of hunting as well as the day you leave. The additional days in between will be full days of hunting. A two night stay is the minimum requirement. A minimum of two hunters is required. Dogs must be in the kennel in the utility room. You provide your own kennel.

This is an un-guided hunt. Recommended for serious waterfowl hunters that know what they are doing. You will have access to a Yamaha Viking Quad to take out decoys and such to designated hunt spots that you will have marked on a map of (that can be printed out on the website) prior to your hunt. All hunting will take place less than one mile from your lodging. To book a hunt, there must be a minimum of two hunters,  and you must book a minimum of two days hunting. Hunters can check into the housing after 1:00 PM on day one. You must check out by 11:00 AM at the end of your hunt. Hunt plan is as follows: first day, you hunt a half day starting after 1:00 PM, second day, full day of hunting, and third day you hunt in the morning and check out by 11:00 AM to allow for house cleaning for the next party. As most of you know, the waterfowl hunting is early in the AM and again in the evening. Only one hunting party will be allowed to hunt on the ranch at any given time. Housing can accommodate up to 6 hunters (3 on main floor with bath and shower and 3 on basement level with bath and shower).
