Montana Archery Elk Hunts
Up to 2 Guests
About
Our archery elk hunts take place in the rolling, timbered hills north of Big Timber, MT, where elk populations are abundant and the bull-to-cow ratio is among the highest in the state.
A typical day begins with an early morning breakfast, followed by a ride to the hunting location in a side-by-side. Once we arrive, we continue our hunt on foot. We primarily use calling techniques to attract bulls. If the bulls aren’t responding, we employ spot-and-stalk methods or position ourselves along travel routes between bedding and feeding areas to intercept herds.
At the end of each day, everyone gathers to enjoy a hearty, home-cooked meal.
If you’re seeking a hunt filled with the sounds of bugling bulls, this is the experience for you!

Cayuse Hills Outfitters is owned and operated by Wes and Lydia Sargent. Wes began guiding hunters in 2010 while working for Lydia's family's outfitting business in Gardiner, Montana. After their marriage and a move to Wes's family ranch, they decided to establish their own outfitting business, Cayuse Hills Outfitters.
Located 20 miles south of Shawmut, MT, Cayuse Hills Outfitters operates out of the Sargent Ranch, which has been in the Sargent family since 1919. Wes and Lydia's sons represent the sixth generation to grow up on the ranch.
Both Wes and Lydia are passionate outdoor enthusiasts who appreciate and respect the wildlife they hunt. They employ only the best guides who share their commitment to the outdoor industry.
