Hunt Rules & Lodge Guidelines

To ensure a comfortable, safe, and enjoyable experience for everyone at Plaska Lodge, please review the following rules and expectations:

Ethical Hunting Practices:

Each hunter is responsible for keeping track of their individual bird count. We will do periodic walk-throughs to ensure everyone is having a great time while staying within the legal daily bag limit of 15 birds.

Firearm Safety:

For everyone’s safety, no loaded firearms are allowed inside the lodge or in any vehicle at any time. Always handle your firearm with care—keep it pointed in a safe direction, be mindful of your surroundings, and know what’s beyond your target. If you need to retrieve a bird in the field, clearly communicate your movements to other hunters nearby to avoid confusion or risk.

Alcohol & Substance Policy:

Alcohol and prohibited substances are not allowed before or during any hunting activity. This includes any drug or substance made illegal under Texas law. Safety in the field is our top priority.

Licensing:

All hunters must have a valid and up-to-date Texas hunting license as well as a Migratory Game Bird Endorsement.

Lodge Etiquette:

• No smoking or pets are allowed in the lodge. Hunting dogs can be kept in our outdoor kennels or you may bring your own crate to put into the barn.
• Please bring a pair of indoor shoes, as hunting boots are not permitted inside.

Accommodations:

Private bedrooms are provided, along with fresh linens and towels. Complimentary coffee, tea, milk, and juice will be available. You’re welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages to enjoy after hunting hours.
