About Plaisted Camps
Plaisted Camps is a remote Canadian wilderness fishing destination located on Russell Lake in northern Saskatchewan. Founded in 1970 from Ralph Plaisted’s dream of finding a place far away from the busy city, the camp has grown into a long-standing fly-in fishing tradition known for pristine waters, authentic log cabins, and unforgettable days on the lake.
With over 50 years of guiding anglers through the abundant waters of Russell Lake and the surrounding Wheeler River area, Plaisted Camps offers access to trophy Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Walleye, and Arctic Grayling. Guests come for the fishing, but return for the hospitality, rustic comfort, and the feeling of becoming part of the Plaisted Camps family.
The camp emphasizes authentic wilderness adventure, conservation-minded experiences, and comfortable accommodations that let anglers enjoy the best of Saskatchewan’s untouched landscape.

Russell Lake Main Lodge
Sleeps 8Private rustic log cabin accommodations at Plaisted Camps with hotel-style linens, refrigerator, 12V LED lights, woodstove or propane heat, and optional inverter access for charging devices. Cabins are located among the trees around Russell Lake and are paired with access to the lodge, dining area, and modern shower facilities.
Wheeler River Outcamp
Sleeps 6Remote outcamp cabin on the Wheeler River with 6 beds, propane appliances including stove, heater and refrigerator, limited kitchen pots/pans/utensils, BBQ, two-burner outdoor cooker, and generator support depending on package. Guests provide personal bedding, food, beverages, toiletries, towels, and other listed supplies.
