About Rio Nutrias Adventures
The Ranch at Rio Nutrias is a ranch in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, near Chama and Tierra Amarilla. Our ranch spans portions of New Mexico Game Management Units 4 and 51 and borders the Carson National Forest, giving our guests access to a rugged, varied landscape.
Our hunting tradition began in the early 1980s when our dad started welcoming hunters to Rio Nutrias. Today, we are proud to continue what he started and uphold the high standards he set for the hunt, the ranch, and the way guests are treated.
We offer private land elk and deer hunting, on-ranch lodging, and a personal hunting experience that is intentionally kept small and focused. Rio Nutrias is our family ranch and our home, not simply a property used during hunting season.
We believe a great hunt is about more than the harvest. It is the country, the camaraderie, the early mornings, the stories at the end of the day, and being welcomed onto a place that has been cared for by the same family for generations.

Rio Nutrias Lodge
Sleeps 8Make yourself at home between hunts at The Ranch @ Rio Nutrias Adventures. Set on a working ranch in Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico, our spacious lodge offers a welcoming place to share a meal, swap stories, and rest up for another day in the field. The lodge features four bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a family room with three twin beds for additional sleeping space. We accommodate a maximum of eight hunters. Sleeping arrangements can be coordinated with your group before arrival. Gather in the open-concept living area, enjoy the covered deck, or settle in for a quiet evening surrounded by northern New Mexico’s ranch country. A stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi, and on-site parking add convenience to your stay.
