Salty Buddha Offshore is a Key Largo-based fishing charter built around one simple idea: Good Energy, Great Fishing. Capt. Jason “Buddha” Smith has been involved in the fishing and outdoor industry for years, building the Salty Buddha and Buddha Bait brands around a genuine passion for fishing, quality tackle, and spending time on the water. Whether you’re an experienced angler looking for a serious offshore trip or a family wanting an unforgettable day in the Florida Keys, we tailor the experience to the people on the boat.

We operate two boats, giving us the flexibility to match the boat and trip to what our guests want to do. Our 26’ Crevalle center console is ideal for nearshore, reef, wreck, backcountry, snorkeling, lobster trips, and shorter offshore adventures. It’s fast, versatile, and a great platform for families and smaller groups.

For serious offshore fishing, we run Fish Happens, our 36’ Topaz Express. This classic offshore sportfishing boat gives guests significantly more room, comfort, shade, and capability for longer days offshore. Fish Happens is our primary offshore charter boat for targeting mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, deep-water species and whatever else the Keys and Gulf Stream are producing. We offer everything from half-day trips to full-day and extended offshore adventures, including trolling, reef and wreck fishing, deep dropping and specialty trips.

What makes Salty Buddha Offshore different is that we’re not trying to run a cookie-cutter charter. We fish hard, keep the atmosphere relaxed, and want our customers to enjoy the entire experience—not just the fish at the end of the day. We use quality equipment, stay on top of where the bite is happening, and customize trips around experience level, conditions and what our guests want to accomplish.
