Explore the beaches, barrier islands, and coastal waters of Southwest Florida with Rebel Fishing Alliance on a private shelling excursion and eco tour designed for families, couples, and groups looking to experience the Gulf Coast beyond a traditional day at the beach.

Join Nikki, RFA’s resident Shell Alchemist and shelling guide, to search the shoreline for unique shells while learning how to identify your finds, recognize colors and patterns, and collect responsibly. Guests can choose from three private experiences ranging from a two-hour shoreline excursion to a boat-access shelling adventure or the complete Signature Shell & Spell Experience.

Every shelling day is different. Tides, weather, seasons, and wildlife determine what the Gulf leaves behind, making each trip its own treasure hunt.

Private Shoreline Shelling

2 Hours | Private Group Up to 4 Guests | Meet at the Beach

Price: $275 for a private group of up to 4 guests

Spend two hours beachcombing a Southwest Florida shoreline with Nikki as your private shelling guide. Learn where to look, what to look for, how to identify your finds, and how to notice the shells, colors, and patterns that are easily overlooked.

The exact shoreline is selected based on tides, weather, seasonal conditions, and where the best experience is expected that day.

Private Shelling Boat Tour

Take the treasure hunt farther with a private boat charter led by Captain Tim and guided shelling with Nikki.

Travel by water to secluded beaches and barrier islands that offer a completely different perspective on Southwest Florida. Along the way, guests can keep watch for dolphins, coastal birds, and other marine life before heading ashore for approximately two hours of guided shelling.

Once on the beach, Nikki will help your group search for beautiful, unusual, and easily overlooked finds while sharing shell identification, local knowledge, and responsible collecting practices.

Because tides, weather, wildlife, and Gulf conditions are constantly changing, there is no guaranteed list of shells or wildlife you will encounter. That unpredictability is part of the adventure.

Signature Shell & Spell Experience

Private Group Up to 6 Guests | Boat + Beach + Shell Reveal + Custom Pendant

Price: $975 per private group

The Signature Shell & Spell Experience takes the complete shelling adventure one step further.

Your day begins with the Private Shelling Boat Tour, traveling with Captain Tim and Nikki to explore secluded Southwest Florida shorelines and build your own collection of shells.

After shelling, return to The RFA Lodge for the Shell Reveal.

Together with Nikki, guests will clean, sort, organize, and brush their finds with mineral oil to reveal the natural colors, patterns, textures, and details hidden within each shell. You’ll learn more about what you collected and take a closer look at the shells that caught your attention throughout the day.

Then comes the signature part of the experience: each guest chooses a favorite shell they personally found for Nikki to transform into a one-of-a-kind Shell & Spell pendant.

You didn’t choose it from a souvenir shop—you found it yourself, learned about it, and now get to take that story home with you.

What to Bring

Come prepared for a comfortable day outside. RFA recommends bringing:

• Reef-safe, mineral-based sunscreen
• Hat
• Polarized sunglasses
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Light rain jacket when necessary
• Sweatshirt or light layer during cooler winter and early-spring mornings
• Snacks
• Additional drinks if desired
• Camera or phone for photos

Alcoholic beverages are permitted in moderation for guests of legal drinking age. Glass containers and hard liquor are not permitted.

For boat-based experiences, RFA provides onboard coolers with ice and bottled water. The boat also has a small flushable toilet with a privacy curtain, hand sanitation, a freshwater tank, and a shower nozzle for rinsing off after time on the beach or in the water.

Additional Hour of Shelling — $60

Stay on the shoreline a little longer and continue searching.

Photography Package — $150

Nikki will photograph your group, favorite finds, and candid moments throughout the experience, along with a short video. This is especially popular for sunset shelling.

Additional Shell Pendants — $28 Each

Found more than one shell you love? Additional finds can be transformed into pendants or talismans.

Shore Lunch / Boat Snacks — $20 Per Guest

A menu will be provided and coordinated before departure.

Booking & Payment

• A $100 deposit and valid credit card on file are required to secure your date.
• After booking, a member of the Rebel Fishing Alliance crew will contact you to discuss your group, customize the experience, and coordinate the final meeting location and trip logistics.
• All experiences are private to your group—RFA does not combine separate parties or sell individual seats.

Cancellation & Weather Policy

• 7 or more days before your trip: No cancellation fee and your deposit will be refunded.
• Within 7 days: $100 cancellation fee.
• Within 72 hours: 50% of the trip cost will be charged.

Weather cancellations: Weather decisions are made at the captain’s discretion. RFA will work to reschedule or adjust the experience whenever possible, and no cancellation fee is charged for weather-related cancellations.

The captain will typically communicate with the party leader leading up to the trip to confirm logistics and discuss any potential weather concerns.

Additional Information

Children are welcome, and experiences can be tailored around the ages and comfort levels of the guests.

For boat-based experiences, groups are limited to six passengers. Each passenger has individual seating, and U.S. Coast Guard-approved safety equipment is carried onboard.

Gratuity is not included in the trip price. For guests who would like to tip the crew, RFA notes that 20% is customary for excellent service.
