About

When you Crane hunt with Smith Farms & Cattle our commitment to providing an unparalleled hunting experience is evident in every detail. Equipped with an extensive arsenal of resources, we offer an array of decoys including full-body and 78 stuffers, along with A-frame blinds, layout blinds, and the latest addition – five meticulously crafted pit blinds.

Our operation is one we take great pride in, from the preparation, to the hunt, to the luxurious lodge, to the relationships we make during your stay. We hope to provide an unforgettable experience, and hope you'll come back and see us year after year!

What To Expect On A Typical 3 Day Hunt:

Arrival: Sportsmen will arrive at the lodge the evening prior to their first day of hunting. Because arrival times for sportsmen may vary, we leave dinner to the sportsmen for the first night. There is always a variety of food to prepare at the lodge, or you can grab something on your way in.

Day 1 Morning: We'll get up early and head out to our spread for the morning hunt. We will hunt until the group reaches their bag limits or the guides call the hunt. Following the hunt we'll head back to the lodge, clean up birds and gear, and enjoy a home cooked spread for brunch.

Day 1 Evening: After a post-brunch nap or hanging around the lodge with your buddies, dinner will be prepared and served to all of our guests. Before and after dinner, enjoy the lodge and quality time with family and friends. We have a pool table, shuffleboard, corn hole, a 10-seat bar, and reclining couches in front of large flatscreen TV's for movies or college football.

Day 2 Morning: We'll follow a similar format of Day 1. We may mix up the fields we hunt or the spread we run. But we'll sure be setup to have a great hunt. Well follow up the hunt with bird care and gear clean-up while brunch is being prepared.

Day 2 Evening: We like to use our harvest for one of our Supper's main entree's during your stay with us. Might be Day 1 evening, might be Day 2, but we typically try to have sportsmen enjoy their harvest one night as part of the experience with Smith Farms & Cattle. As always, enjoy the lodge with your family and friends.

Day 3 Morning: We'll head out for one more Crane Wrangle. After the hunt, we'll head back to the lodge, take care our our birds, clean up gear, and have one last brunch prepared for our sportsmen. Guests will depart shortly after brunch.

Welcome to Smith Farms, your premier destination for the ultimate waterfowl hunting experience in the heart of the Texas Panhandle. Nestled within the sprawling landscapes of our 50,000-acre operation, we take pride in offering the finest waterfowl hunts that combine tradition, expertise, and exceptional accommodations.

Our legacy dates back five generations, rooted in a passion for hunting that has been passed down through the ages. Dwayne, our seasoned professional waterfowl guide, developed his hunting skills from the moment he could hold a shotgun. An heir to a legacy of craftsmanship, his father, granddad, and great-granddad hand-dug pit blinds on playa lakes for goose hunting.

With over four decades of guiding under his belt, Dwayne’s expertise is unrivaled. As a fifth-generation farmer and proprietor of Smith Farms & Cattle, he oversees a sprawling operation that spans 10,000 acres. Moreover, we’ve cultivated partnerships with local farmers, allowing us to extend our reach across an additional 40,000 acres exclusively dedicated to our hunting operations.

Our operation is one we take great pride in, from the preparation, to the hunt, to the luxurious lodge, to the relationships we make during your stay. We hope to provide an unforgettable experience, and hope you'll come back and see us year after year!
