Overview
Notifications help outfitters and guides keep up with operational updates while working in the Mallard Bay mobile app. In mobile, notifications are handled through screen_name: Notifications for reviewing messages and screen_name: NotificationPreferences for choosing how updates are delivered.
Review Notifications
Open the notification bell in the mobile app header to go to screen_name: Notifications. The bell shows an unread indicator when there are unread messages.
The Notifications screen shows your Mallard Bay inbox messages with:
- The notification title
- A preview of the message
- An unread indicator for messages that have not been opened
Tap a notification to mark it as read. If the notification includes a link, the app opens the related destination. Supported mobile deep links open in the app; other Mallard Bay links may open through the dashboard or browser flow.
Configure Notification Preferences
Go to Settings and open Notification Preferences to manage screen_name: NotificationPreferences.
Notification preferences are organized by topic. The available topics, labels, descriptions, and supported delivery channels come from Mallard Bay for your outfitter account. Topics may include operational areas such as booking requests or payments.
For each supported topic, choose the channels you want to receive, such as:
- SMS
- Push
- Inbox
Only channels supported for that topic are shown. Changes are saved to your Mallard Bay notification preferences for the current outfitter account.
Field Workflow Tips
Use Notifications to quickly check booking, payment, lead, and operational updates while you are away from the office.
Use Notification Preferences to reduce noise before busy field days. For example, keep push or inbox updates enabled for time-sensitive topics, and use email or SMS where those channels are supported.
Notification Preferences control how you receive Mallard Bay notifications. Message templates, automations, and other dashboard-only communication setup are managed in the web dashboard, which you can open from the mobile Menu.
